Residency: Will you be moving or living in multiple regions during your candidacy? [Choose answer below.] If so, you may work with your assigned curriculum coordinator to choose Earth Path books from two different ecoregions.
Please select one option.
Earth Path Books

For the Earth Path books, we are specifically looking for information about your local ecosystem (plants, animals, weather, natural history, etc.) for its own sake. As such, we try to stay away from anything with a human focus and anything that is more general in location. The relationship to your local ecosystem is one of the biggest pieces of the AODA philosophy and system. However, you may choose one general book on how nature works even if it is not specific to your local ecosystem. You may also choose books that focus on a particular species of plant or animal that is common in your area.

Be aware that foraging guides are too human-focused for the purposes of Earth Path. Field guides by comparison are written to assist with identification, and do not focus on foraging or use. Peterson Field Guides are an excellent example of what we’re looking for.

List your 9 Earth Path Books below.

Lifestyle Changes: Describe the three lifestyle changes that you plan on making in order to take less from the Earth and give more back. The AODA New Candidate Guide provides examples of common lifestyle changes.

Tree Planting: AODA druids plant trees as part of their candidate year.  At the same time, we realize that not everyone is able to do this due to living circumstances.  If you cannot plant a tree, describe an alternative you can do (e.g. taking part in a tree-planting community activity, cultivating a bonsai, etc.).

Ovate, Bardic, or Druid Exploration: What Exploration do you plan on pursuing?  You are welcome to pursue more than one but note that there isn’t really an advantage to doing so. Your Exploration choice does not limit you or force you onto a particular track as you move forward in future degrees.

Please select all that apply.
Exploration Topics: For each Exploration that you plan to pursue, list the specific topic (not a range of various topics) that you plan to practice or study and how you plan to explore it in the required 20 hours. Remember that the topic must be new to you. Please see the AODA New Candidate Guide for descriptions of each of the three Exploration types.
